Were you serious when you said it was a squirrel hiding an acorn? If so would a squirrel venture into a tunnel is completely dark. You seemed quite far in.

Another interesting exploration guys, I’m still amazed at the finds, albeit rails, buckets etc, but the history is quite something else. As for the car, yep, how did it get there!

How did this car end up down there? It is the second time I see it I think and the mistery is still unsolved

Quite a bit of dobbing in that first mine. I am always surprised that the rails and pipes are still in the mines, considering the metal shortages in WW2.

As a Yank, I love learning the various mining terms used on your side of the pond. Of course, it IS rather easy to see the origin of "coffin level," as it does indeed look like an incredibly deep coffin stood on its side. As far as the upended Mini, however, I believe both our countries might call that "a bloody F#%&-up," or words to that effect. Wonderful video, as always!

Is it possible to explore the mines the VoR used to serve in it's early days or have you already done so. I was recently out at a mine site called CSA underground mine which started in 1871 and is still being worked today at Cobar NSW Australia. They mine copper with an annual production of 180K tons+ at a depth of 1640 meters with 300+ miners. There are other mines in the area which mine lead, zinc, sliver and gold and they were started in 1983-1992. The town of Cobar only exists because of the mining but has been there since the early 1860's. The second discovery really was a Mini mine.

How on earth did a Mini get in there?

OMG this is so interesting to watch! I went down a few caves in Wales years ago and enjoyed it, but nothing like that. We were crawling through one section up a slight incline and it had started to rain, so water was flooding in and because the roof was only 3ft and lower in some parts, the water was going higher by the minute. It took about 15mins to get through and panic was starting to set in! We had looked at weather forecasts. Another problem was water in pools, it wasn't just a few inches deep, it was unknown as dropping a stone in showed it vanish. You always have to be cautious and not walk over unless you can see the ground.

Not watching the whole thing. To long, but is there not a chance you could open a toxic gas pocket or something down there that can kill you? Do you take any precautions for methane or any other dangers?

What you guys have there are more like tunnels than mines here in America and I find them even more interesting because they go forever and I still don’t know what they were looking for Here in America they dig for one of five or six things but in earth is different and the time frame is different I’m sure

And it’s funny they sometimes have a shape of going in to Mother Earth and you hope Father Time doesn’t come home when you are in there huh😂

How does that work you go down hill yet the water level stays the same and what were they after that it is crazy

If you have a dead end you get some weird echoes. Especially if there's water running in. I've heard sounds that sound like people talking but there's nobody there, it's just water and echoes.

I've been in some mines that have a) been dead ends and b) have water flowing in at the dead end. The combination sounds very like someone talking and moving around.
